Fight depression

In our time, many people are dependent on drugs and antidepressant to deal with the symptoms of depression. While in some cases, the cause of this brain disorder could be a temporary issue such as a recent loss of a loved one, or simply not getting enough sunlight during winter, in many cases, the root cause of the depression lies deep in our psyche and remains untouched by pharmacological treatment.

We tend to forget about our traumas and painful events, hide them and carry on. Whether it was a job or a relationship we didn’t want, a childhood trauma or any painful memory, hidden deep within our subconsciousness. These hidden painful memories can come up to surface and act as repetitive pain triggers which gradually shape up the neuronal structure of our brain, and over time can lead up to chronic depression.

Becoming aware of these old memories can be a painful process, but the simple act of shedding light over these hidden issues is the first and most important part of the healing process.

There are different methods for accessing subconsciousness, such as hypnoses or guided meditation. Recent studies also showed that hallucinogenic drug, such as Psilocybin mushroom can be very helpful in reshaping our brain patterns:

Enkidu light can be a great help for people suffering from depression in many ways:

  • By leading the brain into Alpha and high theta frequencies (meditative state of mind) we can connect with our inner self, or what Carl Jung calls it shadow. In the alpha state of mind, we can access our hidden memories and the brain is also more susceptible to changes. By using visualization and affirmation methods, in the alpha state of mind, we can work on reshaping our memories and brain patterns (neuroplasticity).
  • Once the cleansing of our inner world has done, it would be time to make the necessary changes in one’s surroundings. Studies have shown excessive lower delta frequencies in the brain of people suffering from depression and lack of higher frequencies of beta. In this part of the process, entraining the brain into the frequency range of low beta brainwaves ( <13Hz to 20Hz>) can help to elevate our mood and energy level.
  • A 20-minute light session in the early morning can boost up the secretion of so-called happy hormones in your brain such as serotonin and endorphin and suppress the sleep hormone in your body (melatonin), to boost up your mood and sharpness to rock your day. A light session in the early morning can also help with regulating your circadian/sleep pattern.
  • Enkidu can also help you with anxiety and stress by entraining your brain from stressful frequencies of high beta range (>20Hz t0 30Hz>), into peaceful lower frequencies of alpha (<8Hz to 13Hz>). This gives you the serenity of mind you need, to look at the situation with a better perspective and come up with a plan, for overcoming the hardships on your way.

Note: Exercise and spending time in outdoor activities, in order to get enough sunlight, combined with a healthy diet, can naturally boost up the secretion of serotonin and endorphin hormone in the brain.
